A New Jersey school district will eliminate midterm and final exams as it transitions to the Common Core State Standards. Students instead will be evaluated based on more than nine hours of computer-based testing taken during a 20-day period. Some parents and critics worry the move could harm students' success in college, where they likely will take midterms and finals.
