| 4 common blended-learning models School districts nationwide are integrating blended learning into the classroom, often using one of four key methods. The rotation model -- the most common method -- involves students in one or two classes rotating between online and in-person instruction. Some schools also have adopted the flex model, which integrates blended instruction into every course. Other models include the a la carte model, which allows students to take individual courses online; and the enriched-virtual model, similar to the flex model, but students do not go to the school building every day. | About 60% of N.J.'s public schools to preview new, online tests Students in some schools in New Jersey will be involved in spring testing of new Common Core State Standards assessments developed by the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers. Education officials have tested the exams in some schools, but this spring about 60% of schools will get to try out the assessments in an effort to give more educators and students a chance to interact with the format and material before the official rollout during the 2014-15 school year.
