Students also are learning geometry by designing a habitat for the school's desert tortoise. | Vt. school district revamps curricula for new standards Officials in a school district in Vermont have been taking steps to rework the district's English and math curricula as schools prepare to implement the Common Core State Standards. The district created a math steering committee to help with implementation of the new standards. | Calif. teachers emphasize vocabulary, language in common core math Teachers at a Los Angeles elementary school are integrating literacy into math as they transition their mostly English-language-learning students to a curriculum based on the Common Core State Standards.
